Seedlings of Fungal Endophthalmitis

57 year diabetic female , was treated as a case of recurrent vitreous post cataract surgery. Patient was posted for vitrectomy 3 months post cataract surgery. Intra-operatively, multiple yellowish colonies were seen all over the posterior pole were seen, which were later found to be Aspergillus colonies.

Anterior segment photography of a 54-year-old woman with post phacoemulsification endophthalmitis. She did not improve after first intravitreal antibiotics injection and develop an inflammatory pupillary membrane. After two vitrectomies, and a complete three intravitreal injections scheme, we decided to remove the intraocular lens and capsules.

Optic Atrophy and Attenuated Retinal Vessels Following Endophthalmitis

This elderly lady underwent a vitrectomy for post-surgical endophthalmitis. The infection was successfully treated but the functional outcome was poor because of optic atrophy and attenuated retinal vessels.

Fungal Endophthalmitis Associated With Intravenous Drug Abuse

Fundus photograph of a 20-year-old male with pain and decreased vision OS for 3 days. His visual acuity was counting fingers and he had conjunctival injection, anterior chamber cells and vitreous cells. He admitted to intermittent use of intravenous heroin. A vitrectomy was performed and cultures were positive for candida albicans.
