  • Persistence of Sub Retinal Fluid Post Retinal Reattachment Surgery

Sep 14 2021 by Ogugua Ndubuisi Okonkwo, MD, FRCS (Edin), FASRS

Postoperative Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) of the right eye of a 35-year-old male showing persistence of subretinal fluid in the original area of the retinal detachment.

    Imaging device: Optovue Avanti RTVue

Condition/keywords: re-attached retinal detachment (RRD), subretinal fluid

  • Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment- Macula-On

Sep 14 2021 by Ogugua Ndubuisi Okonkwo, MD, FRCS (Edin), FASRS

Preoperative Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) of the right eye of a 35-year-old male showing detached retina ( subretinal fluid elevates the retina), sparing the macula.

  • Spaghetti-Technique-for-Subretinal-PVR-Removal

Aug 27 2021 by Yodpong Chantarasorn, MD

An intraoperative image demonstrates extensive subretinal proliferative vitreoretinopathy that was removed by a spaghetti technique. The technique was aimed to minimize the traction on the retina surrounding access retinotomy, and thereby stabilized the retinotomy size.

Imaging device: Leica Proveo 8 (operating microscope)

Condition/keywords: proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR), re-attached retinal detachment (RRD), subretinal bands

  • Spontaneous Reattachment of Retinal Detachment

Apr 26 2021 by Priya Rasipuram Chandrasekaran, MBBS, DO, DNB, FRCS

This is the fundus photo montage and red free montage of a 27-year-old male showing pigmentary changes and atrophic changes in the inferior retina involving the macula. This has sharply demarcated margins and a convex border with subretinal bands suggestive of spontaneous reattachement of retinal detachment.

Condition/keywords: re-attached retinal detachment (RRD), spontaneous retinal reattachment

Apr 11 2021 by Dinesh Rungta, MBBS, DNB

Optos image of a 55-year-old male with history of sudden decrease of vision in right eye associated with flashes showing total RRD with GRT and CD.

  • Funnel Retinal Detachment With Proliferative Vitreoretinopathy

Oct 2 2013 by Jerald A. Bovino, MD

There is a total retinal detachment. The proliferative vitreoretinopathy has caused the retina to assume a funnel shape.

Condition/keywords: funnel, proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR), re-attached retinal detachment (RRD)

  • Retinal Detachment

Nov 9 2012 by Norman Byer

This is the same lesion as in the previous photograph shown 13 days after surgery. Not only is the retina reattached, but the cyst has now completely disappeared even though no treatment of any kind was applied in the vicinity of the cyst. Long detached retinas tend to develop intraretinal cysts, and these tend to disappear following reattachment of the retina even without direct treatment to the cysts.

Condition/keywords: intraretinal cyst, re-attached retinal detachment (RRD)
