42-year-old 4 weeks after being hit directly on the eye with a tennis ball. The day it happened a bubble of SF6 was injected in the eye to displace the blood.

Ultra- widefield pseudocolor image of an 18-year-old male with blunt ocular trauma in the right eye due to a firework injury. The patient presented with commotio retinae (sclopteria), an acute vitreous hemorrhage, choroidal rupture, and a subretinal hemorrhage. The referring physician performed surgery on the lateral rectus muscle which was macerated but not severed, and several orbital fibrous foreign bodies were removed from the posterior orbit. The globe was intact. There is no evidence of retinal tear in the region of sclopetaria; however, there is complete necrosis of the temporal peripheral choroid and retina. The vitreous hemorrhage was slowly clearing on his exam 6-9-2020. The patient is developing subretinal fibrosis. The physician is concerned about the choroidal rupture that is visible through the submacular hemorrhage. There is one rupture that appears to course directly under the fovea. The physician states that if this is the case, his vision most likely will be 20/200 or worse. His vision was hand motion in all fields except nasally, which he was unable to see hand motion at his visit on 6-9-2020.

40-year-old male sustained blunt trauma OD with orbital fracture and choroidal rupture subjacent to inferior arcade with blood, subretinal fluid, and exudate extending to fovea with CF 2 feet at presentation 9-10-12. On follow up 3-11-12, vision improved to 20/400 with resolutionof hemorrhage, normal OCT, but speckling of foveal RPE and PMB consistent with damage.

Severe choroidal blow out caused by a suprachoroidal hemorrhage. There was a dense VH, and ultrasound showed a possible tear in the mid-periphery. Intraoperatively, a severe choroidal rupture secondary to a suprchoroidal hemorrhage was found temporally and a separate rhegmatogenous retinal detachment was found nasally. This photo was taken after silicone oil had been removed. The initial cause of injury was from a hockey ball in a young man.

Fundus, ICG, and OCT examination showed a typical chorioretinal scar lying concentric to the optic disc. Typical choroidal rupture was performed after intravitreal gas injection under the diagnosis of submacular hemorrhage caused by trauma, after the absorption of submacular hemorrhage

The fundus photo of a 24-year-old male shows crescent shaped choroidal rupture away from fovea and concentric to the optic disc following cricket ball injury. The corresponding optical coherence tomography shows disruption of the choriocapillaris, retinal pigment epithelium and Bruch’s membrane while the neurosensory retina remains intact. The fovea is not involved.

24 year old female who presented after being hit in the head with a metal softball bat after an altercation. The patient reported blurred vision as well as a zig-zag line described as a “lightning strike” across her vision. Examination was significant for a choroidal rupture OD as well as commotio retinae OU.
