    A 38-year-old male who comes in with blurred vision in the left eye. VA is 20/30. Noticed a defect inferior of his central vision. Did an fluorescein angiogram to determine an RPE with no sub retinal fluid. Also OCT confirms. Patient was injected with Avastin.

  • Silicone Droplets After Avastin Injection

    A 74-year-old female complained of seeing a round shadow at the bottom of her field of vision starting soon after intravitreal bevacizumab injection for neovascular macular degeneration. Fundus photograph showed a silicone oil droplet at the top of the photograph (arrow). Bevacizumab was prepared by a compounding pharmacy and was shipped in a BD insulin syringe with an attached 31-g needle. She had previously received 19 intravitreal avastin injections over the past two years without any problems.

  • Pre-Retinal Fibrosis Following Endogenous Fungal Endophthalmitis

    20-year-old male presents with posterior uveitis with a chain of white infiltrates stemming from the optic nerve. While treated, his infiltrates retracted and hemorrhage occured. Neovascularization of the disc developed and underwent Avastin treatment in addition to his oral anti-fungals and intravitreal anti-fungals. Patient was lost to follow up and presented with severe pre-retinal fibrosis 6 years later. Acuity is 20/40-1 with significant metamorphopsia.
