    86-year-old patient had history for retinal detachment surgery x2 and intraocular injections for AMD performed elsewhere. Left eye has PVR developing and subretinal PFO. Due to guarded vision, opting to defer any further treatment at this time.

    This is an 87 year- old male with 3.5 year history of retained silicone oil following treatment of late-onset recurrent retinal detachment 18 years following prior primary scleral buckle repair. Robust emulsified silicone oil aggregates are appreciated. Visual acuity is 20/400.

    Optomap RGB of a 79-year-old-woman with a repaired retinal detachment with PVR in the right eye. Patient is doing well over 7 months s/p vitrectomy with silicone oil and scleral buckle placement. Retina remains attached on the buckle under oil. Patient is to return in 6 months for follow up exam with repeat imaging.

    Optomap RGB of an 48-year-old man with a retinal detachment with PVR. Patient is 6 weeks s/p RD repair with giant HSRT. Patient has new PVR noted on post op exam causing the retina to re-detach. Patient is having to have a 2nd surgery to remove the scar tissue and have silicone oil placement. Will continue close follow up care.

    55 year old patient , with poor metabolic control , came with right eye gradual loss of vision. Patient had partial inadequate retinal laser in the past. Funds examination showed fibrovascular proliferation over the arcades with tractional retinal detachment. Patient under went right eye Pars plans vitrectomy with endo laser with silicone oil injection. patient was given pre op anti VEGF injection.

  • Morning Glory Anomaly With Retinal Detachment Managed With Amniotic Membrane Graft

    10 year-old boy presented with noticed blurring of vision. He had total retinal detachment with complicated cataract. He underwent lensectomy with 240 band and vitrectomy with silicone oil. The retina failed to settle due to minute breaks in the inferior part of the disc. Repeat surgery with AMG was done to cover the inferior part of disc. The retina settled under silicone oil. Silicone oil was removed and he is presently undergoing amblyopia treatment. Vision is 2/60 with +14.5 diopter lens.

    A 57-year-old woman underwent faco vitrectomy due to retinal detachment, and silicone oil was used as endotamponade. Mild zonular weakness was noticed during the procedure, but the surgeon still placed a one-piece IOL in the capsular bag. At the one-week follow-up visit, multiple bubbles of silicone oil were found during the slit lamp examination.

  • Crystallized silicone oil particles in the anterior chamber

    Anterior segment image of a 67-year-old Indian woman who had proliferative diabetic retinopathy with traction retinal detachment with neovascular glaucoma. Patient underwent vitrectomy with membrane peeling with endolaser followed by silicone oil injection 1 year back. Patient was lost to follow up and presented a year later with this picture. She had crystallized silicone oil particles in the anterior chamber rendering a polychromatic lustre like appearance; a unique and rare finding.
