Optos ultra-wide field color fundus photography - Description
- A 66 year-old diabetic female presented with proliferative diabetic retinopathy and a large altered subhyaloid hemorrhage involving the posterior pole in left eye. She underwent left eye pars plana vitrectomy, endolaser photocoagulation, and fluid-air exchange. Post-operative day-1 ultra-widefield imaging shows a clear view of posterior pole following removal of the subhyaloid hemorrhage, an attached retina with a superior air bubble. The evenly distributed endolaser photocoagulation marks create delicate, fern-like frond patterns across the retina, giving the appearance of a "fern garden".
