    Description
    Following pars plana vitrectomy to repair the retinal detachment depicted in image 1, the patient developed a full thickness macular fold as illustrated by the color photograph and confirmed with OCT imaging. OCT is crucial in differentiating partial thickness folds from full thickness ones. Since the patient was symptomatic, surgery was performed to repair the fold
