    Description
Similar to ciliary body and choroidal melanocytomas, optic disc melanocytomas are pigmented variants of melanocytic nevi. This image shows a posterior view of an enucleation specimen in which a calotte of the eye has been removed. Note the nodular pigmented tumor in the optic nerve parenchyma. No meningeal extension is observed.
