- Fundus photograph of left eye of a 13-year-old boy with endogenous aspergillus endophthalmitis with retinal detachment and silicon oil in-situ 3 days after first presentation. Vitreous was hazy with inflammatory membrane over anterior surface of oil. Aspergillus was seen on smears and cultured from his vitreous. He had disseminated systemic aspergillus infection following use of oral steroids for nephrotic syndrome.
