VISUCAM 524(Carl Zeiss Meditec AG, Jena, Germany) - Description
- An 18 year-old man presented with chronic visual loss in the left eye. Wide-field fundus imaging revealed extensive intraretinal and subretinal lipid exudation involving the posterior pole and peripheral retina, associated with scattered retinal hemorrhages, peripheral exudative retinal detachment, and areas of abnormal retinal telangiectasia. The advanced exudative changes resulted in severe and longstanding structural retinal damage. Given the atypical and extensive presentation in a young patient, magnetic resonance imaging was performed to exclude an intraocular mass, particularly retinoblastoma. No evidence of an intraocular tumor was identified. The clinical findings were considered consistent with advanced Coats disease. Due to the chronicity and advanced retinal damage with limited visual potential, close observation was indicated.
