    An 83 year-old man with bilateral pseudophakia and secondary glaucoma presented with a 2-year history of progressive, fluctuating visual loss, predominantly in the right eye. Wide-field fundus photography demonstrated dense whitish fibrillar, branching, and sheet-like vitreous opacities with a characteristic glass-wool appearance, markedly obscuring the posterior pole. Similar vitreous deposits were present in the fellow eye. The patient underwent pars plana vitrectomy and vitreous biopsy of the right eye. Intraoperatively, dense peripheral whitish vitreous bands were observed; after their removal, the retina was completely attached without evidence of vasculitis. Histopathologic examination demonstrated Congo red-positive material with characteristic birefringence under polarized light, confirming amyloid deposition.
