Retinal Vasculopathy in Fluorescein Angiography
May 22 2026 by Monica P Gonzalez-Collazo, MD
Fluorescein angiography of the temporal peripheral retina in a 6-year-old female patient with genetically proven facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy type 1 demonstrates peripheral retinal capillary telangiectasia with irregular, dilated vascular loops, focal microaneurysms, and adjacent areas of capillary nonperfusion with mild vascular leakage. These findings are consistent with peripheral retinal vasculopathy associated with facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy.
