Nov 11 2019 by Mark K. Walsh, MD, PhD

58-year-old woman presented with dramatic creamy colored retinal vessels, prompting a check of her triglyceride levels which were highly elevated at over 4000 mg/dL (normal less than 150 mg/dL). After treatment, her blood vessels regained their normal appearance. Of note she also has choroidal neovascularization with a small amount of subretinal hemorrhage in the right eye in follow-up unrelated to her lipemia retinalis.
