This 12 year old girl became aware of blurred vision in both eyes two weeks prior to examination. There were no other ocular or systemic symptoms. The past medical history and family history were negative.
The visual acuity was 20/50 O.U. without correction. The IOP was 16/16 mm Hg. There was a single KP on the corneal endothelium OS. Vitreous cells and haze were observed in both eyes. Bilateral macular star figures were associated with periphlebitis. The inferior parts plana region was normal bilaterally.
A negative workup has included a CBC, urinalysis, FBS, chest x-ray and tuberculin skin test.
Treatment has consisted of topical 1% prednisolone acetate 4 to 6 times daily. After six weeks the vision has improved to 20/20 O.U. with some clearing of perivenous exudation. The stellate maculopathy is unchanged.
