67 year old white female, who is in perfect health complaining of a visual disturbance in the left eye. She had no previous ocular or family history of any abnormality. The visual acuity was 20/20 in the right and 20/50 in the left. The right eye was completely normal. In the left eye, however, there was an exudative detachment of the macula. It was continuous with an inferior nasal juxtapapillary angiogram revealed some dialated retinal capillaries overlying the detachment. The peculiar telangiectatic capillary changes were not associated with any significant, large retinal aneurysms, non-perfusion, or signs of compensatory collateralization.
