The patient is a 39 year old self referred Hispanic male with a three month history of decreased visual acuity. His visual acuity in the right eye is counting fingers and left eye 20/40. There is no history of diabetes or hypertension. External examination is within normal limits.
Ophthalmoscopy of the right fundus revealed evidence of whitish exudated changes surrounding the fovea which appears to be intraretinal. There were numerous dot like hemorrhages primarily superior and temporal to the right fovea. Color view of the left fundus also revealed some artifacts on the color photographs but no pathology could be seen.
