A 56 year old Japanese female developed a headache and a fever of 102 degrees on 2/11/94. She was hospitalized on 2/14/94. On 2/15/94, she noticed rapid loss of vision in both eyes. On examination on 2/22/94, visual acuity was 1/200 in each eye. The cornea showed KPs and 1-2+ cells in the anterior chamber.
